4.28 - Yosemite Day 1
Last fall at our ward auction, we went in with the Nielsens and Clarks and purchased a week at a cabin in Yosemite. We cashed in on our week right when the boys got home from Panama. It was so much fun. The weather wasn't the greatest. It snowed two of the three days we were in the park (and caused us to have to buy an overpriced set of chains for our car). But oh my goodness the sites there are breath taking. It was such a good break from the busyness of LA.
4.30 - Yosemite Day 3
Oh, the hike to see the redwoods....such a good idea on paper.
Right inside Yosemite Park, there is a grove of Giant Sequoia trees. Because we visited Yosemite in "the winter" (and winter it was) the two mile road up (I am serious about the up part...think elevation change of about 1000 feet) to the parking lot to BEGIN the Sequoia hike was closed. No big deal, right? We will just add that to the hike and make it a 7 mile trip. It all started out great. The sun was shining. Birds were chirping. Extra Layers were stripped and left in the car. Then we reached the actual grove. Because it had been snowing the previous days and we had gone up in elevation, there was still a sufficient amount of slushy snow covering the ground making the trail very slick. Kyle was carrying Hadley on his back in our carrier and slipped in the shade of one of the ginormous trees. He didn't really land on Hadley but it really scared her; she immediately started screaming hysterically. At this point we realized we had made it to the top without bringing a pacifier, which as it turned out was a HUGE mistake. She was screaming and wet and cold and tired and binky-less. Nothing we did could console her. She preceded to scream (scream, not cry) the entire next two hours as we made our way around the trees and back to the car. In our short eleven months of being parents, we both agreed that this was the most that we have ever heard Hadley cry. Ever. We are not exaggerating.
As a side note, those trees are really quite spectacular!

4.24 - Meanwhile back at the ranch
While I was in Idaho (because Kyle was in Panama) I went out one morning with my dad to feed the cows and check the water so that I could take some pictures of "the ranch" to send to Mitch (ehm, Elder Bedke) in England. When I am home and out with my dad, it makes me laugh thinking of the completely different life that I currently live. I don't make it out with my dad nearly enough. It brought back lots of old memories (i.e. getting nervous that I will pop the clutch while my dad is on back.) I don't think I appreciated growing up where I did nearly enough while I was growing up. Thanks for the fun morning Dad.

4.16 - Swim Lesson
Hadley LOVES water. She loves the bathtub, she loves splashing in the sink, she loves putting her feet in the ocean, she loves playing with the spray bottle, and she LOVED swimming lessons.
4.15 - Baby you can drive my car
Both Hadley and Trey got these little cars for Easter. It is so funny every time Hadley is on hers, Trey comes and climbs on her lap. Too funny!
4.8 - Favorite place in the house
Hadley is COMPLETELY entertained by the cupboards in our bathroom. When I realized that it was nearly impossible to keep her out, I removed anything dangerous and hid all sorts of treasures in there for her to discover.
4.6 - Stuck
While I am working, I pretty much just let Hadley explore the house and find ways to keep herself entertained. This morning, however, she suddenly started to scream and I turn around to find that she had somehow crawled into the basket underneath the stroller and gotten stuck. I love my busy little bee, she never ceases to amaze me with the things she does!
