6.4 - Happy Birthday Party!

I interrupt this blogging in chronological order to post pictures from Hadley's pink and yellow birthday party!   Now a first birthday party has been the source of much internal debate for me these past months because it is obviously for the parents {me}. I wanted to do something small but then there is the problem that we live in a wonderful ward with waaay too many friends to have a small intimate party at our small apartment.  So I was left with no other choice, a birthday extravaganza fit for a princess at the park.  I had a blast planning it!  Accounting is really fun but in my next life, I think I will be an event planner.

6.3 - Twelve Months {aka ONE YEAR}

I am having a hard time picking a favorite
As you can tell we tried every trick in the book to achieve happiness.
As it turns out happiness cannot be purchased.

Right before Hadley's birthday, my parents drove out for a fun visit. Some friends in the ward recommended a fun seafood place right across from the beach in Malibu. Kyle and my Dad shared a ginormous platter of fried underwater critters, my mom tried their crab cakes, and I...I got a hamburger (always the adventurer, I know!) We were able to do several fun thing while they were here. We went to the sample sale in the fashion district, looked at China Town, ate French dips at the famous Philippes, drove along the Pacific Coast Highway, and watched Hadley eat her first cupcake!

5.25 - THIS is American Idol {Finale}

Another perk of living in LA...a group of friends and I were able to go to the American Idol Finale! We went down to the Staples Center at 6:00 in the morning to secure our place in line. As it turns out, we were the FIRST people waiting in line for the performance show (the others were there for the dress rehersal) so we got REALLY good seats. Our fifth row seats were in the row right in front of Simon Fuller, the executive producer of the show! I felt a little undeserving to have tickets to such a fun event because I didn't really even watch American Idol this season, so I didn't even know who the two finalists were other than their names, haha! The next night I was able to attend the actual finale with another group of friends. It was such a fun AMAZING concert with so many fun performers.
