9.27 - It was HOT, HOT, HOT!

9.25 - Beach Day

This past weekend has been HOT {like 100+!!!} so we joined some friends for a beach day on Saturday. It was the PERFECT beach weather. We had so much fun. Hadley loves playing in the sand and has NO FEAR when it comes to the water. We would take her down to the water and let the waves hit her. She would keep going in further until she was about waist deep and just giggle as the waves would hit her. I was crouching down behind her holding her up and as the waves would come in I would say "ooooo, here comes a big one" and she would giggle and repeat "big one" to me. She is too funny!

9.24 - Disneyland

Kyle got home from school in the early afternoon on Friday, so we decided to head to Disneyland. I have been so excited to take Hadley there because she loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. {About Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Nearly every morning when she gets up, she trys to drag her little chair out and then tries to find the remote to bring it to me so she can watch Minnie. She will come pull on my leg and say Minnie, it is the cutest thing. Then she sits there and is GLUED to the TV. I like it because I can go and shower or do the dishes and know that she isn't roaming the house looking for things to destroy. I know I am creating a monster, but I have learned you have to do what you have to do...haha} Anyways she absolutely loves Minnie and Donole {I LOVE how she says Donald!!!} so I was very excited to take her and show her them in REAL life! Right when we walked into California Adventure, Minnie was there. We stood in line to get a picture and Hadley was pointing to her and smiling and waving, but when we got up to her, Hadley got scared and clung onto me for dear life! We rode a couple of rides and then went to the Playhouse Disney live on stage show. Hadley loved it, she smiled and clapped and giggled through the whole show. She would turn around to us and get the biggest smile and point to the stage and say Donole, it was hillarious! Afterwards we watched the Pixar parade and then met up with the Nielsens who were there with Brik's brothers. When nighttime rolled around Hadley fell asleep in the stroller so that allowed us to ride a few more rides and watch the fireworks. It was such a fun Friday evening!

9.24 - An hour in the life of Hadley

Hadley has recently learned to climb on things, so that has added a whole new dimension to her life! The other morning the power went off from about 7:45-8:45 {and Hadley was very mad she couldn't watch Minnie} so I was running a little behind on trying to make it to a birthday party at 10. Since the power was out, I couldn't shower because I had nothing to distract Hadley with, and I couldn't shower with her because it was too dark, so I was trying to get other things done around the house. I was in the bedroom and I heard Hadley start screaming from the front room. I go out and find her in a little predicament. She had climbed onto the desk chair, but the catch was, the chair was pushed in and she was stuck. I ran and got the camera and got a few pictures right before she dove off the chair and hit her head on the desk. So I grabbed the keyboard and the mouse (the reasons she was climbing onto the desk) and put them on the floor for her to play with.

About 5 minutes later, I hear Hadley squawking again and I go in to find her back in this position.  Notice she put the keyboard and mouse back on the desk, because they are much more fun to play with ON the desk.  

I gave in and just put her on the chair.  

Then the power turned on so I quickly turned on "Minnie" and ran to get in the shower.  After being in the shower for about 5 minutes I hear the door to the bathroom fly open and a little person starts opening the shower curtain and throwing in her bath toys one by one.  After she had given me her entire collection of bath toys, I threw them all back out, got out of the shower and went into the bedroom to get dressed.  I heard some clanging in the bathroom so I go back in to find this....

Hadley had climbed into the wet tub and sat there playing with her toys.  I let her play in there for a while and then took her into her room to take off her wet jammies and change her waterlogged diaper.  I let her down before I decide what she is going to wear and then I go to finish to get ready.  I come back into the front room and this is what I find.  She has pulled the keyboard back down and is operating on it trying to pull the batteries out of the back...all while watching the TV.

There really is never a dull moment around here.  And yes, I was late to the birthday party.

Hadley had a mind of her own during our little shoot.  She was happy as can be, but just wanted to do her thing....which, unfortunately, was not pose for a picture!  Oh well...we did get a couple of cute ones though!  Thanks Kate!

9.16 - Skirball Museum's Noah's Ark Exhibit

The Skirball Museum in Hollywood has the neatest Noah's Ark exhibit.  It normally is quite expensive to get into, but they have free days on Thursdays; the catch is they control the number of people they let in, so we had to schedule or trip way back in July!  They have four large rooms filled to the brim with kid things of every kind.  Hadley wasn't so sure of some of the animals, they looked a little too real and were a little too close for her.
